What that means in practice
When a page on this site links to a product, that link usually carries our Amazon tracking tag. If you buy something through it, Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price either way — the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not your pocket.
We also take part in a small number of other affiliate programmes for retailers and manufacturers that sell solid wood furniture, replacement parts and wood care products. Those links work the same way.
What it does not mean
- Nobody pays us for a recommendation. No brand, retailer or manufacturer can buy a place on a list, a rating, or a kind word on this site.
- We say when something is worse. Every comparison on this site is required to state where the cheaper option falls short of the expensive one. If a piece is veneer over MDF rather than solid wood, we say so, even when the affiliate link pays us either way.
- We do not publish prices. Amazon’s terms prohibit stating a price or a discount that is not pulled live from their API, so we describe price bands instead and let you check the current figure yourself.
